MAGELAN
I photograph not so much my subjects as the time they reveal.
A time that begins or waits.
A space in time that fades or intensifies.
Or hesitates.

From there, it is no longer about filling the frame, but rather opening it.
To space, to the unseen, to passing light.
It is looking for a long time before releasing the shutter,
questioning rather than asserting.
It is also slowing down.
Letting the silence come.
Letting the moment come.
And trusting it.

Time then becomes a place for the subject.
Rather than asking them to hold a pose, I invite them simply to exist there.
In a simple gesture. In a gaze that forgets itself. In an exchange beginning to unfold.

Perhaps a photograph may appear.
Je ne photographie pas tant les sujets que le temps qu'ils révèlent.
Un temps qui commence ou qui attend.
Un espace de temps qui disparaît ou qui s'intensifie.
Ou qui hésite.

Dès lors, il ne s’agit plus de remplir le cadre,
Mais plutôt de l’ouvrir.
À l’espace, à l’invisible, à la lumière qui passe.
C'est regarder longuement avant de déclencher,
Questionner plutôt qu’affirmer.
C'est ralentir aussi
Laisser venir le silence
Laisser venir le moment.
Et lui faire confiance

Le temps devient alors un lieu pour le sujet.
On ne lui demande pas d'y tenir une posture, on l’invite à y exister.
Dans un geste simple. Dans un regard qui s'oublie. Dans un échange qui naît.
